HALLOWEEN
The definition of Halloween is a contraction of "All Hallows Evening" also known as Hallows eve, and the day initiating the triduum of hallomas.
Halloween has a lot of festivities such as Trick or Treating, haunted houses, hay rides, costume parties, ect. Halloween is on October 31, every year. I'd say Trick or Treating is the biggest event on Halloween, all the kids dress up as spooky monsters and ghost. They don't always have to be in scary costumes a lot of kids dress up as princess's or there favorite T.V characters.
After the kids are all dressed up in there costumes there parents walk them around the neighborhood. The houses with lights on means that they are passing out candy. The children have to walk up to the house and say Trick or Treat to get there candy.
Haunted houses have grew a lot over the years. There are houses in Flint, MI that are four stories high, and are supposed to be the scariest place ever. Inside these haunted houses its normally pitch black, people with chainsaws, and monsters trying to jump out at you and scare you. I haven't been to this one but I heard there is a haunted house with lighted floors that moves so it looks like your going to fall thru the floor.
