This is my first blog so today im going to write about my favorite sport football, the 2013-2014 NFL season has just kicked off week two.
I started to watch football when i was a young boy, and ive liked it ever since, I played football as a boy growing up at home with my friends and also at school thru middle school, and high school.
My favorite NFL team is the Detroit Lions, there not only my favorite team because i grew up watching them and of course im from Michigan, but because they have one of the best wide receivers in the league in Calvin Johnson.
I consider Calvin Johnson one of the best wide receivers in the league because no matter what defense the Detroit Lions play they always have wide receiver Calvin Johnson double teamed, another reason I consider him one of the best is because last year Calvin Johnson beat Jerry Rices single season receiving yards record which was 1,848 yards set in 1995, Johnson last year caught 1,964 yards to beat Rices record.
The Detroit Lions also signed running back Reggie Bush, Detroit signed him for four years with a contract worth 16 million dollars, Reggie Bush won a Heisman trophy in 2005 while he set records at the University of Southern California, Reggie Bush was drafted number two overall in the 2006 NFL draft.
Getting back the Detroit Lions earlier in this blog I was talking about wide receiver Calvin Johnson, and how he gets double teamed by all defenses, now with the signing of running back Reggie Bush will actually help his fellow wide receiver, as long as Bush can run like he always has like being speedy, elusive, and tough, that will cause defenses to bring another defender in the box to try an stop the run which will open up man to man, one on one coverage on Calvin Johnson where he is one of the best and can break any defender.
The Detroit Lions are still a young team but they have a lot of potential to make a good deep run in the playoffs this season, in which the Lions haven't made the playoffs sense the 2011 season where they lost the wildcard game against New Orleans Saints.
The only worries I have about the Detroit Lions this season are the penalty's the Lions accused of, the Lions give up a lot of yards on unnecessary penalty's which will hurt the team and can lead to losses.
