Driving in the snow

        Just about every year the same ol Michigan drivers forget that the roads get slick. While driving in snowy conditions you should always be cautious, and drive slow even if you think your a pro driver. The very first day it snowed this year I was leaving the school and I seen a lady in the ditch, I thought to myself well I should'nt be so suprised this happens every year. People think they can drive in the snow like they can on the pavement which you cant, no matter what kind of car or truck you have.

      Driving in the snow is very dangerious so please be carefull. Here are some tips on driving in the snow.
1. Decrease your speed and leave yourself plenty of room to stop. You should allow at least three times more space than usual between you and the car in front of you.
2. Brake gently to avoid skidding. If your wheels start to lock up, ease off the brake.
3. Turn on your lights to increase your visibility to other motorists.
4. Keep your lights and windshield clean.
5. Use low gears to keep traction, especially on hills.
6. Don't use cruise control or overdrive on icy roads.
7. Be especially careful on bridges, overpasses and infrequently traveled roads, which will freeze first. Even at temperatures above freezing, if the conditions are wet, you might encounter ice in shady areas or on exposed roadways like bridges.
8. Don't pass snow plows and sanding trucks. The drivers have limited visibility, and you're likely to find the road in front of them worse than the road behind.
9. Don't assume your vehicle can handle all conditions. Even four-wheel and front-wheel drive vehicles can encounter trouble on winter roads.

       The last thing anybody wants is to do  ruin there can and put it in a ditch then your stuck with no car for a while, and a bunch of damage repair bills. So before you go out and race in the snow think about what you read here today.

Detroit Lions 2013 divisional season

     

 This season the Detroit Lions have had a up and down season. We had a great start and with the addition of Reggie Bush the Lions were on a roll. The Lions have played well in divisional games sweeping the Chicago Bears in 2 games. The Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings are also in the Detroit Lions division. Versus the Packers the Lions lost the first game because there biggest offencive weapon Calvin Johnson was hurt, the second game was a different story blowing out the Packers on Thanksgiving day. The very first game of the year was aginst the Vikings who some might say has the best HB in the game today, Adrian Peterson. On the very first play from scrimmage AP busted out a 76 yard TD run and I think all Lions fans including myself lost it. But as the game went on the Lions slowed down AP and eventually won the game. The lions still have a week 16 game against the Vikings.

       As of right now we lead the NFC North with a 7-6 record, the Bears have a matching record. As long as the Lions win as many games as the Bears, the lions will win the division because of the sweep of the Bears this season. The reason the lions want to win the division is so they can go to the playoffs.

       Some of the problems the Detroit Lions have had has been the turnovers this season which has cost us games. Either Mathew Stafford the Lions QB throwing interceptions, or Reggie Bush the Lions HB fumbling the football. That has been the biggest problem for the Detroit Loins all year long. Even thru all the turnovers the Lions had been putting up big numbers on pretty good defences. Talking about defences, the lions defence in the past years have basically done nothing letting teams run up and down the field on them. But this year has changed with Lions D ranking 5th against the run, and 7th thru the air. As long as the Lions stop turning over the football and stop the penalties they have enough talent to go all the way.

Christmas

  

    Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, everyone is always so happy during the holiday season. Christmas time can be very hectic for most people because there is so much to do. From cooking Christmas dinner to planning a party and doing your shopping. Some might stress because there are so many presents to buy and not enough money. there is always going to be stress during Christmas, but most people forget that it is a time for loving and appreciating everything in your life. Once the stress is passed it is the most wonderful and joyful time of the year. I love Christmas and it has always been my favorite holiday because every one is in such a good mood. All of my family comes together and spends time with each other. Christmas originated on Jesus birth day or the day he was born. Many people traveled from far away to bring this baby presents and goods.
    

  Christmas has many festivities during the holiday season, like Santa houses for the children. Where the kids can go sit on Santa's lap and ask him for what they want. Others are sledding where people of all ages find a big hill and ride there sleds down it. Some might go to Frankenmuth MI. and stay at the Zender's hotel and go for a horse and buggy ride. take your wife and children with you. Its a wonderful time out with your family.

Thanksgiving

      Thanksgiving is a great time of the year, people give thanks to all they have in their lives. Friends and family come together to cook and eat a huge dinner. society has made the main dish for thanksgiving dinner a huge turkey cooked to your liking. don't forget all the side dishes, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, stuffing, corn, cranberry, and much more.

       Thanksgiving originated way back when the pilgrims came to America. The native Americans helped the pilgrims learn to fish and all kinds of survival techniques. The pilgrims were so thankful they cooked a huge meal for the Indians and they all came together and feasted.

       For as long as I can remember, my family Thanksgiving routine was that we always go to my uncle Charlie's house in St. Charles MI. It was always fun to go there he had seven horses, a donkey, a pig, and a bunch of peacocks an chickens. I loved to see all the animals as a child, and when my uncle Charlie would set up the buggy with the horses and take the family thru the woods. There normally was a bunch of snow so it was always beautiful. I also loved watching football with the older guys, I was about 8 and all the guys liked to drink beer. My uncle Charlie's house had a bar in it so I would sit behind it a get beers for the guys, I normally left with about 20 bucks and at 8 it felt like a million.

       Unfortunately a few years ago my uncle Charlie got a brain tumor and passed away. I loved him and will never forget the good times I had at his house. But that is my thanksgiving story, and I hope every one has a happy thanksgiving.
